Michael is an epidemiologist who has been working at FDA for over twelve years, most recently on the Outbreak Analytics team as part of FDA’s Coordinated Outbreak Response, Evaluation, and Emergency Preparedness office. His focus has been on emerging zoonotic diseases. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland School of Public Health where he has been on faculty for over ten years and teaches multiple courses on Emerging Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology, and Food Policy. He received his BS and MS from Virginia Tech and his PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh.
