Dr. Ariel Garsow is a Technical Advisor for Policy and Governance at the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition. She helps to design and conduct research with the goal of increasing access to safe, nutritious, and culturally acceptable food. She obtained her MS and PhD in the Food Science and Technology Department at The Ohio State University. Her PhD work focused on estimating mycotoxin exposure and increasing food security in Guatemala. During her masters, she researched the effectiveness of Clean-In-Place using ozonated water for the inactivation of biofilms. Dr. Garsow received her undergraduate degree in food science with a minor in Spanish at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. She is passionate about utilizing food science, public health, and data analytics methods as a part of the solution to ensure food security.
