  • Enhancing and growing existing research and education programs
  • Creating a community of practice for faculty, staff and students engaged in food safety, nutrition and food security
  • Raising the visibility of research by hosting a variety of events and workshops each year, including scholarly conferences, workshops, and web-based events sponsored in collaboration with other stakeholders
  • Translating science into policies and practices that prevent foodborne illness and promote nutrition security
